Working Together

The work we do is grounded in relationship - we come together to form a third thing, a kind of partnership that has its own action potential in the world. The purpose of this work is to help you connect to your own power and agency.

The tools we use help to provide a scaffolding, a structure to get you there. That may mean herbal formulas, supplements, foods, lifestyle toggles, and even spiritual or energetic practices (should you want those things) that I think of as gifts from beyond.

What you bring to work on is the locus of what we do. Together we paint the vision of where you want to be. As a sort of steward, I bring clinical experience and knowledge of herbalism, nutrition, and energetic work to map your path to a bigger, fuller life.

My role is to help you find the tools by which you can inhabit your world and find your agency to make the changes that help you more vital and open-hearted life.

I use a whole systems approach to put together a personalized protocol to guide you toward more supple aliveness and deeper health. This process, like all the work I do with clients, is collaborative, so we start where you are and work our way forward with small, manageable steps that fit into the realities of your life.

Protocols may include:

  • Custom herbal formulations from my personal dispensing apothecary: tincture, tea, powder or broth blends, etc.

  • Nutritional supplements: while I tend not to lean heavily on supplements as a way of life, when the root of a health imbalance lies in nutritional deficiencies, correcting those deficiencies is far better than trying to spot treat symptoms with herbs. I use an online dispensing apothecary called Fullscript, which grants access to many practitioner-only lines.

  • Functional bloodwork assessment: most laboratories have parameters (references ranges of “ok” or “healthy”) that are based on data from all the people who have bloodwork drawn. This can be a great way of assessing for outright disease, but can also fail to identify the places where an imbalance is subclinical, or is suggestive of nutritional deficiencies that have not yet manifested as outright disease. If you have recent bloodwork, this can be great data to examine possible contributing factors.

  • Vitalist practices - gentle and supportive ways to find connection, fluidity, ease in the emotional and spiritual bodies. Vitalist practices might be drinking more water (this one is often hard for me - ha!), gentle stretching, prayer, movement practices, and other fairly simple tools that can go a long way toward building a more supple resilience.

Structure:

We will do an hour-long intake appointment (by video or phone chat) in which we go over your health history and body systems (detailed in a very long intake form that although time-consuming, will help us make the best use of our time together) and talk about your goals and what you want to feel like on the other side. From there, I will have ideas and suggestions about what things might be supportive, and you lead with which of those things you want to incorporate.

Usually at the end of the intake I have a pretty good sense for some basic ideas for moving forward - lifestyle things, herb things, maybe supplement things, etc., to start. Then I'll work on an herbal formula or two, depending on what feels most important to you as a starting point. Custom formulation is included in the intake fees but herbs are charged separately.

I usually like to allow a month or so between intake and followup so you have a chance to see how things are landing. Our followup is an opportunity to dig into what’s working , what's changed, what new things are presenting, etc. and may be a time for new additions or alterations to your road map, new formulas, etc.

My hope (and how it often works out) is that after those first two sessions, you have a good basis for moving forward and are feeling good and don't need me as much!

These can be either one full hour appointment or two shorter thirty minute sessions. I will be available for some limited check-ins or questions that arise in between via WhatsApp and will let you know ahead of time what my ‘office hours’ are for the week.

Beyond the initial intake and followup, if and when you want a re.up, or if some more chronic things are slower to resolve, I have lots of space for folllowup for established clients. Those appointments are $80-100 on a sliding scale and also include formulation, if that's needed.

Investment:

$300 for intake and followup, with the option of continuing the work if you need it.

My goal is always to help people get to a place of being able to move forward on their own, supported by their own resources and knowing, and how long that takes varies according to so much.

WhatsApp

If it feels like a conversation that should be saved for a session, I’ll say so— sometimes it’s just too big a topic/ too deep and should be saved for a full session, but sometimes it is easy to just hash out and get back on track with a few voice notes back and forth.

Please keep voice notes to under 5 minutes; think of What’s App as a momentum support to keep you going and on track and clear small things that pop up that are standing in the way for you. This model uses WhatsApp as a part of the process- to touch in, check-in, and have quick re-calibrations if/when there’s a wobble!
